SAFETY
Overview
We have a comprehensive proactive Safety Program that not only meets and exceeds OSHA
requirements but continues to evolve. Jay-Ton’s safety performance is well below and continuing to
trend down for the industry averages for DART, LCMR, TRIR, EMR.
Safety is not a matter of policy; it is part of the Jay-Ton culture of “Doing Things Right”. To advance our
Safety Culture we have launched in the spring of 2021, a Globally recognized system that we feel will
protect and highly motivate our most important asset – Jay-Ton employees and all Jay-Ton sub-
contractors on Construction Sites.
We have a full time Safety Director, multiple OSHA Certified trainers, and Safety Site Managers who also
conduct training, safety audits, and a host of job site duties. All training is conducted in the language of
the employee’s choosing.
- Jay-Ton is Avetta approved and ISNET “A” rated for Safety Policies and Programs
- 2 Full Time OSHA Construction Trainers and developing others
- 8 Site Safety Managers
- Bilingual Training is conducted
- Paperless apps for real-time information sharing between Jay-Ton field Staff and Management
- Employee tracking system (JET) is at our Project Managers and Superintendent fingertips for
smooth onboarding, testing, training by position, employee history and related access to related
documents - Basic required training and development training is conducted with testing upon completion to
help evaluate the effectiveness of the training provided - A short service employee program (SSE) which allows Jay-Ton to visually identify personnel at
the worksite by specific hard hat stickers. New employees are assigned a mentor until the SSE
program is completed.
TRAINING
All project managers and superintendents have OSHA 30-hour, First-aid and CPR training.
All employees have:
- OSHA Hazard Communication and GHS Training
- OSHA Rigging and Signaling Training
- OSHA Fall Protection Competent Person Training
- OSHA 10-hour forklift, boom lift, fall protection, rigging and signaling training Training

- Certified Drug-Free Workplace with Pre-Employment Screening
- Monthly safety meetings
- Worksite audits for all projects
- Daily worksite, equipment and tool inspections
- Site-specific safety plans for each project
- NCCCO certified crane operators
